The Devil and Tom Walker

Tom Walker could be considered a very unfaithful man. Him and his spouse both cheat each other. He obtains the title of a liar. Tom is a very greedy person. So much so that he sold his soul to the Devil one day so that he would be promised gold. Tom did not care about his wife. He let her try to bargain with the Devil before he did, probably knowing she would try to argue with the Devil. This caused her death, and once again Tom portrays his greediness by not grieving for his dead wife but instead worries about the values she might've left behind. Tom agrees to be a broker in the nearby town and is merciless. Tom becomes a hypocrite as he decides to start attending church so that he might not be damned to hell, which he is anyways.
